A Day Of Happy Food

A Day Of Happy Food

Have you ever been in such a hurry that you grab whatever is convenient to eat? Maybe you are running late for school or work, or maybe you are behind on that tedious to-do list. As a full time college student and a full time employee of the four diamond rated Timberline Grill. I am constantly in a hurry, living my life in the fast lane.

My typical weekday starts at 7am with the beeping of my alarm clock. I get up and get ready, then rush off to Red Rocks Community College, where i grab some fast food on the way. While on campus I eat in the cafeteria, usually the same Philly Cheese Steak everyday. I am on campus from 8am-2pm, then i catch a bus that commutes 30 miles each way to work. During the bus ride i am either catching some ZZZ's or attempting to do some homework, both are tough because the winding canyon has a tendency to throw you from side to side. the ride takes about 40 minutes, but is worth every second because of the beautiful scenery. Once i arrive i head strait to the 2$ buffet, but after my shift i grab a prime rib or fillet. I usually work from 3:30pm-12am.

When I am not at school or at work, I spend the rest of my time catching up on homework at the library, or playing pool leagues at the bar. Because of all these commitments I have no real time to self prepare and cook my own meals. I choose convenience of faster foods, over the knowledge of what actual ingredients are going into my body. Not to say that if i cooked that I would eat healthy, but i would know exactly what I am eating. So Sunday 10/9/11 i decided that I would take a day to cook and prepare "almost" my own food. And this is what I came up with.

Breakfast- Bacon, pancakes and OJ.

Lunch- Buffalo wings, celery, carrots, and blue moon. (didn't make myself )

Dinner- Grilled chicken, marinated in Franks Red Hot. On a Hogie bun, with bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato. Stuffed jalapeno peppers, stuffed with marinated Pheasant (Franks Red Hot Again.) Cream cheese and wrapped in bacon.
